I am a civil engineer, entrepreneur, and technical expert in construction—a product of the transition between two economic worlds. I graduated from the Faculty of Civil, Industrial, and Agricultural Construction in Bucharest at a symbolic moment: Romania was preparing to join the European Union and NATO. It was a time when the old planned economy was falling apart and the new market economy was emerging from chaos. As a young engineer, I experienced the shock of Romania’s deconstruction — a country that, in just a few years, lost its industries, squandered its resources, and left its national capital prey to speculation. I learned then that development does not come through destruction, but through planned construction, and that a nation without a solid economic foundation cannot withstand the test of time.
My education was not a single episode, but an evolutionary process — a continuous investment in knowledge. Each stage, from my master’s degree to my numerous professional certifications, represented not only a formal certification, but also a form of intellectual discipline. My doctorate in construction was, for me, an attempt to integrate applied science with theoretical rigor: fire safety viewed through the prism of engineering, mathematics, physics, and chemistry. Writing came naturally, as an extension of my desire to translate complexity into clarity. I have always tried to transform technical knowledge into accessible language so that young people can learn without getting lost in academic jargon.
